“Uncommon Pleasure”

“Uncommon Pleasure”

November 2nd, 2017

uncommon pleasure

An epic evening

Transpired last night

Ambivalent feeling

Surprisingly right

Solo rhythmic gyration

Obeying the beat

Closer to integration

Feeling humid heat

Connecting with that girl

Platonic conversation and dance

Opened up my tight world

Next time I’ll take my chance

In touch with the other side

Part of myself I’m rarely at

Two-fold increase in pride

Here I am again, up to bat

Sure the music was poor

And I was un-intoxicated

Out on the crowded floor

I figuratively masturbated

Alas, my dancing is not great

And conversation seemed trite

But I wonder if my partner, Fate

Will grace me on a future night

Regardless, I felt rare enjoyment

And raised the roof within my mind

Engendering relaxing contentment

At what I have found, and will find.

Today's Quote

A hero is simply someone who rises above his own human weaknesses, for an hour, a day, a year, to do something stirring.
